THINGS YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST SEE IN NERJA:

Balcon Europa with the town hall and the church of El Salvador, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra Almijara.

Maro and the Cuevas de Nerja are worth seeing (there are also concerts there in the summer months).

The aqueduct , the historic water conduit from the 19th century, is still used today for local irrigation.

Ayo – If you want to enjoy the best paella in the area, a visit here is a must. More than 40 years of experience have contributed to Ayo's paella becoming known far beyond the region's borders.

The oldest and most typical bar “ El Molino ” at Calle de San Jose 4 is open every day from 9 pm.

Hiking – There are many beautiful hiking trails for all levels. Information on all trails is available at the tourist office at Calle Carmen 1.

The people – whether at the market, in restaurants, or shops. Don't be afraid to talk to the locals. They are warm, open, interested, and helpful.

The two markets are another place in Nerja where you can do some wonderful shopping.

  • A market takes place every Tuesday morning where you can find practically anything. It is set up in the Flamingo urbanization.

  • A flea market takes place at the same location on Sunday mornings. It's perfect for lovers of antiques and second-hand items.
